A Day in the Life of My Lenovo Yoga 2 Tablet Pro.
I was always one of those people that said I didn't have a need for a tablet because what could a tablet do that my phone and/or my laptop couldn't? Of course, that's before I discovered the Lenovo Yoga 2 Tablet Pro. It isn't like most tablets, and I've found a way to ease it into my everyday life. It has features that many other tablets can only dream about.
The tablet was designed by Ashton Kutcher, who is Lenovo's product engineer and was hands-on in the concept and development of the product. I think we all know how hectic Ashton's life can be, so if this Lenovo tablet can keep him organized, that I think it can definitely work for anyone, no matter what your lifestyle may be.
As a full-time sales coordinator in hospitality, a blogger, YouTuber, a wannabe author, and a dog mom, life can get pretty hectic sometimes, but my tablet keeps me from going insane, especially when it comes to my writing.
This is what a typical day looks like with the use of my Lenovo Yoga 2 Tablet Pro:
MORNING
I use my tablet as my alarm in the morning, and I like to set it across the room so it forces me to get up and turn it off. Sometimes, I'm guilty of falling back asleep, which is why I have a second alarm just in case. I also use it as an alarm to let me know it's time to leave for work and make sure I'm not running late.
Before I leave for work, I like to check the weather and help that determine what my outfit will be for the day. It's handy to know if it's going to rain so I don't wear white or anything sheer or if it's going to be a little chilly, I can quickly grab a jacket.
While I'm at work, I look at my calendar to see if I have any appointments or engagements for the day. I also use it to keep track of birthdays, lunch dates, and for any plans I may have after work.
I use the Evernote app to keep track of my tasks for that day. I'm a big believer in lists, and I love being able to check things off of my to-do list. I love Evernote because you can set reminders for yourself or share the note with others and collaborate.
AFTERNOON
During my lunch break, I like to get a little blogging time in. I use the Facebook app to keep up with The Blogging Elite, a Facebook blogging community that I created with the help of my friend, Nina. I also use Evernote to see if there are any blog tasks I can quickly get done while I'm off the clock.
I use the Inbox by Gmail app to keep up with my emails, including any comments that anyone may have left on my blog posts, inquiries about collaboration posts with brands or bloggers, and anything else that may come through.
Throughout the day, I'll use Evernote to keep up with any ideas that may come through my head, whether it's an idea for a blog post, YouTube video, a character or plot for a book I may write one day, etc. I really love having Evernote close by me at all times, and I love that it syncs between my Lenovo tablet, my phone, and my laptop.
Another frequently used app on my Lenovo tablet is Google Drive. You'd be surprised by how many documents I've created with it. I use it for my blog for giveaways, keeping up with sponsorships, documenting my blog earnings, etc. I also use it for The Blogging Elite, so my co-founder and I can easily edit documents, share ideas, and collaborate. For real life, I use it to keep up with my movie and book collections, planning future vacations, expenses, an ongoing list of wines I've tried, and so much more.
EVENING
I'm a big fan of multi-tasking, and that's one of the things that the Lenovo Yoga 2 Tablet Pro helps most with. While I'm on my laptop writing or editing a blog post, I can catch up on YouTube videos or even start binge-watching a Netflix show. It has a little stand in the back which makes it easy for me to set it on my night stand or even next to me in bed while I use my laptop to catch up on work for my blog, YouTube channel, or my first book that I'm currently in the middle of editing.
Before we go to bed, Jon and I often like to watch a bit of TV, but we don't have the cable hooked up in our room. While the tablet screen is plenty big for us to be comfortable watching it together, we do like to take advantage of the one blank wall we have in our bedroom. My favorite feature of this Lenovo tablet is the Pico projector. We literally use it on a daily basis to watch TV together (right now, we're currently rewatching every episode of Friends). It's also perfect if we want to have friends over for a movie night or practice a presentation for work.
A few of my favorite features of the Lenovo Yoga 2 Tablet Pro:
// Versatility: I can use it like a typical tablet or I can use the stand to prop it up. I can also put out the stand and flip it to the top and use it at a tilt. I could even hang it on the wall using the hole in the stand. I love that there are so many ways for me to use it.
// Long-lasting battery: It's crazy how long the battery on this tablet lasts. Jon and I can watch several episodes of Friends (or any other TV show for that matter) and the tablet just can't stop, won't stop.
//Pico projecter: Like I mentioned earlier, this is probably my favorite feature of the tablet. I've always wanted to get a projector, but I think having this tablet is even better than just having a projector because I also get so many other awesome things rather than just one.
As you can probably tell, I'm in love with my Lenovo Yoga 2 Tablet Pro, and I really have found a way to incorporate it into all aspects of my life. I'm officially a believer in owning a tablet, but only if it's this one. I love that it's lightweight, and I can use it anywhere, and I've taken it with me on numerous leisure and work trips. I've also purchased a case for it (found here) so it can better fit my personality and of course also protect and prolong its beauty.

Thanks for writing about the tablet! I've always been interested in purchasing one, whether it be an iPad or a tablet from somewhere else, and this definitely helped my search. Great post!

What a fun tablet! I keep telling myself I need to get a table for easier transport, but I am such a freak about comparing the tons of different tablets! I'm glad I can refer back to this!

The projector on the tablet is so cool! I love the large screen size too!
ReplyDeleteJust shared this on Twitter. :) I wish I could test a Lenovo Yoga. It was one of the top computers I was choosing between a couple years ago. Ended up going with the Acer "Star Trek" laptop/tablet. Great and thorough review!
ReplyDeleteI love tablets and this one is pretty cool!
ReplyDeleteI have an iPad and absolutely love it.

Wow this is awesome!! I have been looking into getting a lenovo tablet :) thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteCan I tell you- I mainly want a table just so I can use it as another way to watch Netflix!! Haha! I think it would be so much easier to do that on a tablet then on my big ol' laptop. :-) But great post!

I love that it has a projector. That's so awesome!

This tablet sounds unreal--it's so perfect! I cannot believe it has a project haha
ReplyDeleteThis tablet has a projector?! And it was designed by Ashton Kutcher?!
ReplyDeleteI have both an iPad and Samsung tablet but I can never get use them to its full potential like you do. Even as a full time student, I rely more on my phone than anything else to keep track of everything. Reading this makes me want to give tablets another go and not have them sitting around collecting dust!
I actually have an iPad mini, but your post has reminded me that there are so many good uses for it...I never use it! I have no idea why. I think as a student most of the time I'm needing to type a lot, and so it's easier to use my laptop than the on-screen keyboard. You've inspired me to break the iPad out and start using it more often!

This is great! Do you find that it replaces your laptop? I have an iPad and love it, but might be persuaded to buy a tablet!

Sounds so awesome! I have to look into one of these... and what photographer do you use? *I* need to look that great in every picture taken of me, too!!! :P
ReplyDeleteI love Lenovo! I just got my newest Z50 laptop from them. That is so cool that i has a projector. I didn't even know those existed on computers!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to buy a tablet because I realized it could do more for managing my blog on the go. However I am trying to figure out does it really make difference. It sounds like it might. Thank you for such a great review.
ReplyDeleteI love this one, and wow you're watching friends yaaay!

I would love a yoga tablet!
ReplyDeleteHonestly this tablet looks awesome!! I kind of want it.. haha.
ReplyDeleteSounds awesome!!! :) I'm looking for a tablet that I can bring anywhere especially during travels, and I'd love to have one of these!

So glad to help! I really love all of the features of this one! It can do so much!
ReplyDeleteI completely understand that! I have to do tons of research and make charts with price comparisons, and then get about a million second opinions.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteMe too! I always thought I'd want a smaller tablet, but I actually love that the screen is pretty big.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Stephanie! I have this Lenovo tablet and also my laptop is Lenovo too. I'm definitely an advocate for it. It's a great brand! I've heard lots of good stuff about Acer, but I've never actually used the brand myself.
ReplyDeleteTablets are amazing! I can't believe it took me so long to get one.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! This is definitely a great choice. It has so many great features, and my favorite is of course the projector. It's so cool!
ReplyDeleteIt really is so handy to be able to watch Netflix while I'm lying in bed haha. This tablet also has a pretty decent screen size too, so it's almost like watching it on a laptop without all the extra bulk.
ReplyDeleteThat's my favorite part. Last year, Jon and I talked about getting a projector, and now we have one, and we use it pretty much every day.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely great for multi-tasking! I didn't mention this in the post, but you can actually use the projector and the screen simultaneously while doing two different tasks, so you could project Netflix on the screen while working on your blog posts (I mean, let's be real, I watch Netflix while blogging anyway, so... haha).
ReplyDeleteI've heard great things about the Ultrabook, but I've never tried it out!
ReplyDeleteHi Taylor! This is the link to my blogging group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/thebloggingelite/
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have you!
1) Thanks so much! I'm surprised we don't drive each other crazy. It actually is fun living with him.
ReplyDelete2) Evernote is life
3) Currently working on draft 3, and I really do want you to read it, but when it's better. I have lots of changes I'm excited about!
4) I want one! And I think that every single time I see the screen. It's like a tease.
5) You're the sweetest!
It really is. If I could dream up my ideal tablet, it would be this. The projector is by far my favorite and most used feature.
ReplyDeleteRight?! It's just amazing. Who knew Ashton Kutcher was a genius? Not I. You should definitely try utilizing your tablets a little more! Sometimes, I do use my phone for quick notes, but that's why I like Evernote since it all syncs together. It really just depends on what you want to use it for though! Sometimes a phone is more handy, especially if you don't want to carry a tablet around with you. I guess it may also depend on the size of the tablet (and the size of your purse!).
ReplyDeleteYay! Glad I could inspire you! It was definitely a transition trying to work the tablet into my life more, but once I did, I just couldn't stop!
ReplyDeleteI can't say that it's replaced my laptop, but I do utilize a lot. I just have so much to do on my laptop that requires storage, mostly for my blog and YouTube. Plus, typing a lot at once isn't that great on the tablet, because I'm so used to using a regular keyboard! The tablet does help me a lot with planning and jotting down ideas quickly. I also use it a lot when I'm multi-tasking or just on the go. I'll happily take my tablet anywhere because it's light, but I don't like lugging my laptop everywhere.
ReplyDeleteMy photographers are named Jon and Self-Timer haha.
ReplyDeleteLenovo is definitely one of my favorite brands when it comes to technology! The projector is easily my favorite and most used feature of the tablet. It's so handy!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed the review! I love having my tablet to help me plan on the go, especially when I have some free time at work or if I'm in the waiting room at an appointment or just have some time to kill and I don't have my laptop around. I always thought that having a tablet would be a waste of time, but it does more than my phone can and a little less than my laptop. It's the perfect balance for people on the go.
ReplyDeleteYessss! It doesn't matter how many times I've seen them. They're still hilarious.
ReplyDeleteYes! It's so amazing. I'm in love!
ReplyDeleteHaha it really is awesome, Rachael! I may be a little obsessed.
ReplyDeleteI think this tablet is perfect for traveling! I've taken it on many roadtrips.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like an awesome tablet! So many uses!
ReplyDeleteIt's seriously incredible. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this tablet, its so awesome
ReplyDeleteIt looks very friendly!
ReplyDeleteI love using tablets. So much more portable.
ReplyDeletelooks like it would fit right in with our family
ReplyDeleteAmazing Lenovo technology the projector has me in wow mode! Thank you for a great review.
ReplyDeleteThe features this offers are the best! They thought of everything when they designed the Lenovo YOGA. I'm running an old 8yr old Lenovo and I can tell you they are a great machine. Mine is so outdated as I'm using Vista!!! But that just goes to show how dependable they are. I would love to own this new Dream Machine from Lenovo. The hinge, hanger and projector are fantastic features. I also like how long the battery last and that it's light weight. I'm just in love!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a dream device.
ReplyDeleteIt really is!
ReplyDeleteThat's so awesome to hear, Rhonda! My laptop is a Lenovo too, and I just got it for Christmas, so I'm looking forward to many, many more years with it. I'm also super in love with this tablet. It really is a dream machine!
ReplyDeleteRight?! That's literally my favorite thing about the tablet. I use it almost daily.
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely perfect for family use!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree, Lisa!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes. I love it!
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
ReplyDeleteSo jealous! I need a new laptop and am thinking about an ultrabook, something lighter for travel, but still has a keyboard.
