My Journey to the (Nosebleed Section of the) ACM Awards!
I suppose I'll start from the beginning. Why did I even buy a ticket to the Academy of Country Music Awards? Remember when I worked in Las Colinas for a week? Well, I supposed to do that again during the same week of the ACMs, so I was trying to figure out what the heck I was going to do to entertain myself while I was there. And then I thought, why not attend one of the most prestigious country music award shows ever? So I bought a ticket (just for one, please. I was going on a work trip, and I didn't want to make anyone drive up just for one night), and then later found out I wouldn't need to work. That didn't stop me though. I made the three-hour drive to Dallas, and I had a blast at the ACMs (with just a few hiccups along the way. Texas streets and I don't get along.).
I know what you're thinking. Is it possible to have fun at an awards show by yourself? The answer, my friend, is yes indeed, you can have a blast. I know I did. I talked to random people. Live tweeted and snapchatted most of the show. Jammed out to all of the amazing artists. Cheered on the winners (extra loud for my girl, Taylor Swift). I had so much fun in my nosebleed (yes, that's section 447) seats.
Unfortunately, I couldn't bring my nice camera in with me (or my small clutch. I literally had to stuff everything in my boots because my clutch was too long apparently), so all I had was my phone. Sad day. I still managed to catch some footage before my phone died. You can watch my full journey below:
Oh my gosh that looks like so much fun! I also love, love, love your dress! I've never thought about going to an awards show like this but now I might just have to try it!
Thanks so much! I got it from Forever 21, and I'm already looking for another reason to wear it. I'm addicted to going to award shows now and would love to go to more!
I am so jealous! What a great experience for you. I'm obsessed with country music so I think going to an event like this might just kill me. Glad you had a great time :)
I'm so jealous! I of course watched the awards from home because I'm addicted to country music, but to see it live would be a dream come true (even if it is from the nose bleeds ;)
I went to a country music awards show once when I was in middle school, and it was SO MUCH FUN! Glad that you had a good time & didn't let a few minor hiccups ruin your night! I admire you so much for going alone!!
That's so awesome that you got to experience it in middle school! I've been trying to master the art of solo travel, and I really think I'm getting the hang of it. I love hanging out by myself on work trips.
Right?! There were so many people! This award show actually set a world record for the most attended live awards show. The ACMs are usually in Nashville, but they moved it to Dallas so more people could attend for the 50th anniversary! I'm glad I was able to be a part of it.
Oh my gosh- this is too cool! Love how you went by yourself. I'm a huge Backstreet Boys fan and earlier this year I bought a ticket for one to the premiere of their documentary movie. :-p
They're doing the Backstreet Boys documentary at one of the movie theaters here, and I'm really thinking about going haha! I'm glad someone else I know has seen it some I'm still not the only BSB fangirl!
It looks like you had a wonderful time! I'm glad you went and rocked it by yourself - flying solo is no reason not to have a blast, especially on once in a lifetime stuff like this. I've been to an awards show before and it is definitely amongst my best memories.
Glad you had a fun time at the ACM. Totally in love with the dress you wear.

Mama Swift is seriously the best person ever. I love her just as much as I love Taylor. Sigh.
