Quarter-Life Crises and Making Changes

quarter life crisis
Something I've been trying to figure out lately is why no one tells you how hard your 20's are. I mean, seriously, there are millions of people in the world who have already survived their 20's, yet no one seems to want to offer any kind of warning about how much your 20's really take a toll on you.

A little over a month ago, I felt like I was at the end of my rope. My anxiety was through the roof, and I decided to go to the doctor to figure out what was happening. Panic attacks were something serious. I was in my head a lot. The self-doubt was never ending, and it was like every single part of my life stressed me out. I cried a lot by myself and fell into a mini depression because I just felt so lost.

When I went to the doctor, he diagnosed me with ADHD, something I definitely wasn't expecting. The ironic thing is that one of the side effects of ADHD is heightened anxiety, but somehow, once I started taking Vyvanse, my anxiety seemed to lower a little bit. My theory is that I was finally told that it wasn't just me. There was something "wrong" with me that was fixable, and maybe that helped to ease my mind a bit.

While that's all well and good, I still felt so, so lost. I was still in my head, constantly questioning all of my actions and trying to figure out if I was wasting my time in every aspect of my life.

What's my real passion? How do I figure out how to turn that into a career?
What's the end game for my job? Will I stay with the company forever?
Why am I still in Louisiana?
How do I know if I'm dating the person I'm meant to be with forever?
What do I need to do to be truly happy?

That's just the tip of the iceberg. I felt like life was playing a game with me and tossing so many questions in my direction.

Recently, I made a few decisions that I believe have helped steer me in the right direction. Surely I can't be the only one in my mid-twenties feeling lost with no clue where to go from here. I don't know what my passions are. I don't know what I want to do for the rest of my life. I feel like I don't even know who I am, and I'm having such a hard time trying to figure out how the hell to figure it out.

Again I ask, why doesn't anyone tell you how hard your 20's are? It's a freaking rollercoaster of emotions and confusion and stress.

All that said, I feel like the decisions I've made have put me in a better place. I've been feeling so happy lately because I really feel like the world is my oyster and I can do whatever I want, but at the same time, I'm freaking out because I just don't know what I want.

Are you a 20-something? Have you ever felt like you were having a quarter-life crisis? What advice do you have for people trying to figure out their lives?

Things to do Instead of Adulting

things to do instead of adulting

I'm not gonna lie - some days, I just really don't feel like adulting. More often than not, I'd rather sleep in and do everything in bed - read, watch Netflix, eat, go back to sleep. Sometimes, being an adult is just so daunting. Between waking up early, paying the bills, cooking my own meals and endless cleaning, it's just all too much. Can't I just be a kid again? If I could put off being an adult for a little while, I would...

...travel to a place I've never been before.
I have so many places I'd like to visit, and it's like every day, my list of dream destinations continues to grow. Australia is definitely number one, but there are so many more. If I didn't have to go to work and make money to, ya know, live, I would be traveling the world.

...go out to dinner and order a bottle of wine.
I've always wanted to do this, but buying a bottle of wine at a restaurant is exponentially more expensive than just buying one glass, which I'm more apt to do. One and done, my friends.

...read all the books on my TBR list.
Imagine how much reading I'd get done if I didn't have to do all of the adult things on my to-do list! I'd be one happy bookworm and just read all the time.

...dye my hair a crazy color.
I've always wanted to dye my hair, but there was always a reason not to, usually school and/or work. If I didn't have to adult, I would go crazy and dye my hair a random color like purple or red.

...buy a bike.
I want a bike so much, but it'd be almost pointless for me to make the investment because I have no time to ride it. Oh, the places I'd go if I had the time though.

...pull an all-nighter just to watch a TV show on my Netflix list.
If I didn't have to sleep, I'd watch all the shows on my Netflix list. So much TV, so little time.

...finish editing my book.
It's so hard for me to divide my time between work, blogging and YouTube. Add in book editing, and my head is spinning with all of the things I have to do. I need to stop being so ambitious. If I didn't have to adult, I'd have so much more time to finish my book

...paint.
I remember when I had time to paint. I'm not really good at it, but painting is something that just makes me happy. It's calming and fun, and I love showing my paintings to Jon, because he always tells me they're beautiful even when they're not.

...take a bath.
I don't remember the last time I took a bath. I wish I had more time for them. I'd take them all the time and use all the bath bombs.

...go glamping.
I'd love to get a cabin in the woods, spend some time on the lake and just unplug, but who has time for that?

If you could put off being an adult for a little while, what would you want to do?
Link up below and check out others who would like to pretend to not be adults.

February Favorites + Win $175 (CLOSED)

What an awesome month February has been. I can't believe it's already over. This year is flying by fast, which I'm pretty okay with because I have a lot of wonderful things to look forward to:

1) Spring - helloooo. Get this cold weather away from me. I'll take the rain over the snow as long as I can get some sunshine and 65+ degree weather.

2) Reunion with my friend, Anamaria - She'll be visiting Shreveport to go to a wedding, and I'll be attending as her date. I always have a fun time reuniting with her, so who knows what antics we'll get into?

3) Wheels Up Tour - I just bought tickets last week to see Lady Antebellum on tour with Sam Hunt and Hunter Hayes. I'm extra excited to see Sam Hunt since I didn't get to see him when he was in town last night. I love all three artists so much, and I know it's going to be a good time.

4) Taylor Swift!!! - So excited to see my girl, Tay, in concert for the third time. I already know it's going to be a night for the books. Not to mention, I'll be seeing her in Chicago with two of my college roommates. "I can't wait" is an understatement.

5) Getting feedback from my beta readers - I have six beta readers who have been reading my book for the past 1-2 months, and I'm looking forward to getting feedback at the end of March. Once I do, I'll be making all sorts of changes and then hopefully taking the next steps toward publication!

Plus, there are so many more, but of course, there will be several blogs and vlogs coming about all of those adventures.

Anyway, like I said, February was a great month, so naturally, I had to make a video of my favorite things from the LOVE-liest month of the year.

I'm also celebrating my friend, Heather's, 30th birthday today! She's officially become a 30-something, and she put together an awesome group of girls (including yours truly) to bring you a chance to win $175! Even though it's her birthday, this cash is just for you, so use the Rafflecopter below to enter!

My First YouTube Channel.

my first youtube channel
I started fangirling from a young age. From my obsession with Britney Spears and NSYNC to my current obsessions with Harry Potter and Supernatural, I guess you can say that I'm a fangirl at heart. I've always said I have an obsessive personality, and that's not isolated to just one thing. It can be music, movies, books, food, people, anything. I go through phases of loving certain things, and while my obsession with die down a little, the full love will still be there.

So I talk about fangirling because I used to be a huge High School Musical fangirl. I watched the premiere of the movie on Disney Channel, I watched the third movie in theaters, and I was even in the musical production of it at my school. I was one of the skater girls. See proof:

high school musical skater
My fangirling was so hardcore that I decided to make a YouTube channel so I could mix clips from different parts of the movies and make my own little "ship" videos. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Gabriella, but from the videos I found on my old channel, it looks like I'm also a Troypay "shipper."

From the about section | "troy and gabriella were dating, but he cheated on her with sharpay; so now she's breaking up with him"

I used to enter the videos that I made into YouTube contests, and I actually won one of them! More on that later. I'm sad to say that I don't know the login to this YouTube channel, so it's just sitting there getting views and comments, and I can't respond.

My YouTube channel (with videos from six years ago, mind you) wasn't just purely made up of High School Musical videos. I also made videos of other people too. Check out these gems:

Mary-Kate and Ashley
My idols. I seriously love these girls. Mary-Kate has always been my favorite because she's was the spunky one who was more sporty, and while I wasn't sporty at all, I related more to her than to Ashley who was really girly. This video was made to the "Suffragette City" cover that was in the New York Minute movie. Check out the rainbow effect starting at 1:36. I thought I was so cool.

Lizzie and Gordo from Lizzie McGuire
This is another couple that I wanted to get together. This video is pretty much dedicated to them being perfect for each other. It's set to "I'd Lie" by Taylor Swift, which is one her "unreleased" songs.

From the about section | "i didn't have much material to work with, so it's not my best"

Miley Cyrus
I was a huge Miley Cyrus fan back in the day. I feel like I was a little older than the Hannah Montana fan base, but that didn't matter to me. I loved HM, and my sister and I went to go see Hannah and Miley in concert "together."

From the about section | "not one of my better videos, but it's ok i guess.."

THE AWARD WINNER: Vanessa Hudgens
As I mentioned earlier, one of my videos was a contest winner, and this is the one. I entered this video in a contest, and it won first place. What?! It's just a bunch of clips of Vanessa Hudgens set to the Lillix version of "What I Like About You."

I know what you're thinking. 'Tiffany, why would you ever stop making YouTube videos like these?!" Guys, I just felt like it was time to move on, so I did. (Embarrassing side note: I also made a YouTube "series" that was about the characters from High School Musical in college. I had commentary and everything, but I thought it was embarrassing, so I took it down. Why I didn't take down the rest of these videos will forever be a mystery to me.)

What are some embarrassing things you did when you were younger?

In 2015, I Will...

The other day, I was on Twitter, and I saw this tweet about how in 2015, 2030 will be as far away as the year 2000. Isn't that so scary to think about? In my mind, it feels like the 2000's just started. It's hard for me to fathom that I was born in a completely different millennium.

Anyway, as I've already shared, 2014 was an amazing year for me. I'm looking forward to an even more awesome 2015! While I don't make resolutions (because there's no way that I'm going eat cleaner or drink less wine), I do like to set some goals for myself, and I try to make sure they're goals that I'll actually keep and ones that I can cross off of a list. Nothing's more frustrating than having a goal like be more kind to people or feel better about myself, because how do you measure that? To me, a goal is something that has an end date, and because I'm an overachiever, I like my goals to be things that I don't have to question whether I actually accomplished them or not.

These are a few of the goals I've set for myself in 2015:

Travel internationally at least once. // I have plenty of trips planned for 2015 - a trip to Houston for Supernatural Con with Jon, a trip to Chicago to reunite with my college roommates and see Taylor Swift, and potentially going to South Carolina - but all of those trips are within the United States. After traveling to Europe with my sister this past summer, I realized that I want to explore more of this vast and beautiful world, so of course I want to leave the country at least once next year.

Take the next steps for publishing my book. // By next steps, I mean, find a few beta readers to give me feedback about my book and make any suggested changes that I agree with and also decide on how I would like to publish my book. I've been looking at several different options for publishing, and I'm not sure which option appeals to me most. Even if I don't get my book published next year, I still want to make sure I'm working toward that goal.

Do some freelance writing jobs. // Writing is one of my biggest passions, and I would love to start building my portfolio and try to figure out how I would fit into the world of writing.

Work out at least four times a week. // I've actually been really good about this for the past few weeks. I found this awesome channel on YouTube called XHIT, and they have great exercises that only take a few minutes, but you do so much in those few minutes. I've had days of sore legs and sore abs just from a ten-minute workout. Plus the trainers are so fun, and all of the workouts are super easy to do.

De-Clutter. // I have way too much stuff, and I'm currently working on going through every room in my house and getting rid of the things that I don't need or use. It's crazy how many things I have that I haven't even looked at in years, and I just move them from place to place.

Learn to use my fancy camera. // I'm obsessed with the camera Jon bought me for my birthday, but I would love to get off using it in Auto mode and learning how to use it to its full potential.

Create a blog group. // I'm letting the cat out of the bag a little prematurely with this one. My friend, Nina, and I have been putting together a blog group since November. We're almost through in the planning stages, and I'm super excited to launch and share all of our awesome ideas with the blog world. The group is called The Blogging Elite, and you can find a little more information about it here. The link in the page will take you to nothing because it's still a secret group, but soon, it will open up, and if you're wanting to join an awesome blog group, you should definitely join us!

Create a media kit. // This past year has been a great year for me as far as blogging for profit goes. I still can't believe that I actually have to file for taxes for my blog this year. As amazing as this year was, I would love to see my blog grow more on the business side of things, and having a media kit would definitely help improve how I look to brands.

Attend a blog conference or meet-up. // Ever since Blogcation was cancelled, I've been on the look-out for a blog conference to attend. I've also been on the hunt for bloggers closer to home. I would love to organize a blogger meet-up, but I don't know of my bloggers in my area. Luckily, Dallas is only a 3-hour drive away, so I may pop on over there to meet-up with a few bloggers.

Get blog business cards. // I've been wanting to get business cards for my blog for so long, but I just keep talking about it and not actually doing it.

Utilize my blog planner. // I used to be really good about using a planner, but for some reason, when I started blogging, I stopped using one. My sister bought me a planner for Christmas, and I really want to use it to get more organized with my posts.

Create a budget (and stick to it). // Pinterest has been a saving grace lately when it comes to budgeting. I've been looking at so many printables and tips on how to manage money. I've created budgets in the past, but I've never really stuck to them. I'm hoping to change that in 2015.

Create a joint savings account with Jon. // We've been talking about doing this for a few months now, but we just haven't gone to the bank to do it. We want to create a savings account that we each contribute to each month, and we're not going to touch it. We don't really have a fallback as far as money is concerned, so having a savings account that will be there for emergencies would put both of our minds at ease.

Pay off one of my credit cards. // I've had a credit card for a really long time, and this past year, I got another one. I really want to work on paying off my first credit card, but still keeping it open and using it for smaller purchases to continue to build my credit score.

Get a second job. // This one is iffy for me. I've been toying with the idea of getting a second job at a bookstore or one of the local libraries to earn some extra cash by working on the weekends or a few nights a week. It wouldn't be a ton of money, but all of the money would be put away to use for paying off debts and planning for future vacations.

What are some of your goals for 2015?

A Quarter of a Century.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

I wish I could tell you I went crazy this weekend, partying it up and celebrating being a quarter of a century, but that's a lie. I actually had a pretty mellow weekend. I went out to dinner with my family and Jon on Friday, and afterward, we went bowling. It was the first time that all of us had been bowling together, and it was a lot of fun. I love bowling even though I'm horrid at it. We managed to get two games in, and unfortunately, Jon won both of them. In our defense, he took a bowling class in college, so his score shouldn't even count.

Glow bowling with red and green lights cause Christmas.

I spent the rest of the weekend being pampered by Jon. I seriously am so lucky to have a guy as amazing as him to call my boyfriend. He's my forever, and I'm excited to spend the rest of my life with him. We went shopping on Saturday and ate some sushi (aka my favorite food) at Hana. Then we spent the night doing Christmas-y things: wrapping presents, hanging up the stockings, watching Christmas with the Kranks

A photo posted by Tiffany Khyla White (@tiffanykhyla) on

For the record, Jon hates doing Christmas things, so I took advantage of my birthday weekend to get him to do Christmas things with me. Yesterday, he brought me breakfast in bed, and we had an overall lazy day. It was perfect.

24 was a pretty good year for me. Shall we relive?

January
I adopted Molly, and it was pretty much the best decision I ever made. She's brought so much happiness into my life, and I'm happy I was able to do the same for her. She's come out of her shell so much since I adopted her, and I love discovering different things about her personality everyday.

January was also a major month for my blog, because I changed my name from d'Asti at Tiffany's to Endless Bliss. I definitely think the change had a positive impact on my blog, and I can't imagine it being named anything else.

February
This month was full of love, not only because of Valentine's Day, but also because of Jon's birthday. We were still in a short distance relationship, living an hour away from each other, but Jon and I were able to see each other a lot in February, which I was so grateful for. One of my favorite days was when we celebrated Mardi Gras together. That was so much fun!

March
March was an exciting month for me at work. Both of our hotels won awards from the brand, and I was tasked with putting together a last minute party for the entire staff to celebrate. It was stressful and fun, but I think everyone had a fun time. I also threw a surprise party for my co-worker's partner, and it was a success! Special shout-out to Pinterest for giving me so many ideas.

April
I moved out of the apartment with my friend, Amanda, and into Jon's and my first apartment together. I lived by myself for a month before Jon moved in with me. It was an adjustment for Molly, but she loved having a yard to run around in.

...or to sunbathe in.

Also, my sister went to senior prom, and I felt really old. She looked gorgeous though.

A photo posted by Tiffany Khyla White (@tiffanykhyla) on

May
Speaking of sister, she graduated from high school, and my brother came into town for the occasion. He works as a fireman in the Air Force, and he's currently stationed in Hawaii. It's been years since I've seen him and even longer than that since all three of my mom's kids have been altogether, so it was a very special few days filled with so much bliss. This was also the first time Jon and my brother met, so huge deal.

A photo posted by Tiffany Khyla White (@tiffanykhyla) on

We're a pretty short family.

Jon moved in with me, and we were officially living together this month. It was the start of a fun adventure and a huge step in our relationship.

Also, my girls and I took our annual vacation to Gulf Shores. It was a blissful few days of toes in the sand and Strawberitas in my hand.

June
EUROPE! Sister and I embarked on our European adventure. Every second was amazing, and I'm ready to take another international vaca ASAP!

A photo posted by Tiffany Khyla White (@tiffanykhyla) on

July
This was a hard month for me, only because it was hard for me to get back to reality after being in Europe for two weeks, but I tuckered on. I was in a parade with puppets created by Wayne White, which was so much fun, but also hurt my arms.

August
I took my first real trip to New Orleans, which also happened to be my first ever business trip. I gave a presentation on social media and explored the streets of New Orleans.

I also got a haircut, which is only monumental because it was my first ever so-called "trendy" haircut, and I cut A TON of hair off. Writing this reminds me that I really need to get another haircut, because now it's growing out of whack.

September
I competed in the Office Olympics with my job, and we got "Dead Ass Last." In our defense, we got there late because no one ever sent us any emails or paperwork, and we missed our first event. I also bought a record player, which I bought on the day I found out that Blogcation was canceled. I used some of the money that was supposed to go to that endeavor.

A photo posted by Tiffany Khyla White (@tiffanykhyla) on

October
I went on a road trip with my sister, and our first stop was to Austin. We went to the Texas Teen Book Festival, our second year in a row doing so. I met some of my favorite authors and learned so much. It fueled my passion for writing and got me excited to write my first novel. I also got to meet up with one of my friends from a camp I worked at a few years ago. It was such a fun and hilarious reunion.

Our second stop was to Dallas where we went to our first ComicCon and met James and Oliver Phelps. Pretty much the best day ever.

A photo posted by Tiffany Khyla White (@tiffanykhyla) on

November
Speaking of writing, I finished my first novel thanks to NaNoWriMo. I still have yet to read through the whole thing, but once I do pick it up again, I'm hoping to work towards getting an agent and looking at publishing options.

I had a lovely Thanksgiving with my family, and I also hosted my first ever Friendsgiving, which was a lot of fun. We had a ton of delicious food.

December
Still happening, but I'll let you know.

After reliving the year through this post, I must say that 24 was an awesome age filled with lots of fun adventures. I hope to go on so many more adventures as a 25-year-old, starting with Supernatural Con in Houston next month.

As a mini celebration, I'm having a sale on my Premium ad spots. You can get 50% with the code BIRTHDAY through the end of the month/year. Woohoo! There are also free ad spots available as well.

How did you celebrate your birthday this year?

Life Makes Scents.

When you hear a song, it's so easy to go back in time to a moment that that song reminds you of - like when you had your first dance with a boy or when you went on your first road trip with friends or when you had your first kiss. Songs always remind me of little memories.

One thing that can also make you travel back in time is scents. Sometimes, when you smell something, it pinpoints a certain memory in your mind.

MIDDLE SCHOOL CRUSHES: Sweet Pea at Bath and Body Works
When I was in middle school, I pretty much lived in Bath and Body Works scents. For every holiday and birthday, my friends and I always exchanged Bath and Body Works lotions, body washes, plug-ins, etc. One of my favorites was Sweet Pea, not only because it was pink and smelled awesome, but also because that's my dad's nickname for me. I also enjoyed Cucumber Melon and Japanese Cherry Blossom.

Probably the most hideous picture taken of me ever. Also, my first time ever dancing with a boy.
PUBERTY: Paris Hilton
I've never been a huge Paris Hilton fan, but I do love her first perfume. I remember when I first discovered this perfume, I was obsessed. Too bad I didn't know how to wear perfume. I was so used to my little middle school body spray scents that I used it like that. Little did I know, you could probably smell me from a mile away. I wore so much of it. The only person who complained was my older brother, and my parents sat me down for a talk to tell me that I was wearing too much. I have no idea why no one actually tried to teach me how to wear it. All of my poor classmates had to deal with it for weeks!

I guess I loved myself. Check the military crease in my pants.
FRESHMAN YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL: Pure Seduction at Victoria's Secret
When I was younger, I used to be embarrassed just to walk by Victoria's Secret. It was a sexy store, and I didn't want anyone to think of me as sexy. I didn't even really know what it meant to be sexy. When I first ventured into the store, I was attracted to the scents, and I would spend time smelling all of them, but not buying anything (I was in high school after all, and I had zero money). When I discovered Pure Seduction, I fell in love with it, and I still wear it today.

Freshman year: When I discovered the art of layering. And yes, I did choose those glasses all by myself.
DALLAS ROAD TRIPS: Juicy Couture
When I went on my first road trip to Dallas, my high school friends (who I'm still friends with now) introduced me to Juicy Couture. How I had never heard of the store before is a mystery to me. I guess I lived under a rock. At the time, they only had their first perfume out, and we all agreed it smelled so awful, but my friend, Sarah, gave us teeny tiny bottles of it for Christmas anyway. Later, they came out with Viva La Juicy, which was a huge improvement, and I have a small bottle of it that I like to dash on from time to time.

High school = a lot of duck faces and not smiling in any pictures
COLLEGE: Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift
I loved Taylor ever since I first saw her music video for "Tim McGraw," so of course I jumped at the chance to use her perfume when I was college. My mom bought me my first bottle, and I still use the scent almost every day.

What are some of your favorite memories associated with scents?

Birthday (& Christmas) Wishlist.

photo credit: Aih. via photopin cc
So many wonderful things happen in December:

1) Christmas - My absolute favorite holiday.

2) My anniversary with Jon - We're celebrating 4 years together on December 30th.

3) MY BIRTHDAY! - I'm turning 25 on December 15th. Yup...I'll be a quarter of a century.

When it comes to my birthday, when people ask me what I want, I always like to share things that I normally wouldn't buy for myself. Jon bought me a camera for my birthday, and I've been wanting to get one for a long time, but I just couldn't bring myself to spend that sort of money on one thing, so I'm grateful that Jon stepped up and bought one for me on Black Friday

These are a few things that I've had my eye on for awhile.

Clothes & Accessories
This sweatshirt, because it's relevant every day of my life.

I wouldn't consider myself a southern belle, but I've been wanting to get my hands on a monogram necklace for quite some time.

There are no words for how much I want these Supernatural shoes. Actually...I NEED THEM!

I've been to several different stores to try to find some gold sequin leggings, and I couldn't find anything remotely similar. I want some so bad!

Electronic-y Stuff
The wannabe writer in me feels like I just need a typewriter, and of course, a pink one would be perfect.

My Disney DVD collection will never be complete.

Girl Meets World just isn't doing it for me. I need some Boy Meets World in my life.

Now that I have a fancy camera, I think I need a cute camera strap. Makes sense, right?

I'm obsessed with my vinyls, but some of the records I've bought could use a good cleaning. This cleaning kit would help so much.

Speaking of vinyls, Lorde's "Pure Heroine" record would be the perfect addition to my vinyl collection.

So I just got a camera, but I'm obsessed with these Polaroid cameras! They're so cute and the photos pop out instantly!

Bookworm Thingies
I would geek out so much with a stamp like this that I can put in all of my books. It would take me so long to get through it, but I'd do it with a smile.

The Fault in Our Stars is on the short list of books that have made me cry, which makes me want this sweatshirt so much.

I've been itching to read Ashes to Ashes, which is the last book in the Burn for Burn book series by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian.

As if I didn't have enough ways to display my love for Harry Potter, the scarf with verbiage from the first book is both adorable and perfect for a Potthead like me.

I just finished reading We Were Liars, and I'm experiencing a bookworm hangover. That book was so incredible, and the ending was so unexpected to me. I still can't believe it. I need it in my book collection ASAP.

Coffee and rain pretty much makes the perfect sleeping environment, plus this shirt looks really soft.

Blog Stuff
I've really been wanting to invest in some business cards for my blog. I think it would be so fun to send them out, and it would be perfect for blog meet-ups and conferences that I would like to attend in the future.

I've been wanting to get in the habit of using a planner for my blog so I can be a little more organized.

I just really want a cute desk to use as my blog workstation. The one I have now was $10 at a garage sale.

What things are on your wishlist for the holiday?
