My First YouTube Channel.

my first youtube channel
I started fangirling from a young age. From my obsession with Britney Spears and NSYNC to my current obsessions with Harry Potter and Supernatural, I guess you can say that I'm a fangirl at heart. I've always said I have an obsessive personality, and that's not isolated to just one thing. It can be music, movies, books, food, people, anything. I go through phases of loving certain things, and while my obsession with die down a little, the full love will still be there.

So I talk about fangirling because I used to be a huge High School Musical fangirl. I watched the premiere of the movie on Disney Channel, I watched the third movie in theaters, and I was even in the musical production of it at my school. I was one of the skater girls. See proof:

My fangirling was so hardcore that I decided to make a YouTube channel so I could mix clips from different parts of the movies and make my own little "ship" videos. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Gabriella, but from the videos I found on my old channel, it looks like I'm also a Troypay "shipper."

From the about section | "troy and gabriella were dating, but he cheated on her with sharpay; so now she's breaking up with him"

I used to enter the videos that I made into YouTube contests, and I actually won one of them! More on that later. I'm sad to say that I don't know the login to this YouTube channel, so it's just sitting there getting views and comments, and I can't respond.

My YouTube channel (with videos from six years ago, mind you) wasn't just purely made up of High School Musical videos. I also made videos of other people too. Check out these gems:

Mary-Kate and Ashley
My idols. I seriously love these girls. Mary-Kate has always been my favorite because she's was the spunky one who was more sporty, and while I wasn't sporty at all, I related more to her than to Ashley who was really girly. This video was made to the "Suffragette City" cover that was in the New York Minute movie. Check out the rainbow effect starting at 1:36. I thought I was so cool.

Lizzie and Gordo from Lizzie McGuire
This is another couple that I wanted to get together. This video is pretty much dedicated to them being perfect for each other. It's set to "I'd Lie" by Taylor Swift, which is one her "unreleased" songs.

From the about section | "i didn't have much material to work with, so it's not my best"

Miley Cyrus
I was a huge Miley Cyrus fan back in the day. I feel like I was a little older than the Hannah Montana fan base, but that didn't matter to me. I loved HM, and my sister and I went to go see Hannah and Miley in concert "together."

From the about section | "not one of my better videos, but it's ok i guess.."

THE AWARD WINNER: Vanessa Hudgens
As I mentioned earlier, one of my videos was a contest winner, and this is the one. I entered this video in a contest, and it won first place. What?! It's just a bunch of clips of Vanessa Hudgens set to the Lillix version of "What I Like About You."

I know what you're thinking. 'Tiffany, why would you ever stop making YouTube videos like these?!" Guys, I just felt like it was time to move on, so I did. (Embarrassing side note: I also made a YouTube "series" that was about the characters from High School Musical in college. I had commentary and everything, but I thought it was embarrassing, so I took it down. Why I didn't take down the rest of these videos will forever be a mystery to me.)

What are some embarrassing things you did when you were younger?

Life Makes Scents.

When you hear a song, it's so easy to go back in time to a moment that that song reminds you of - like when you had your first dance with a boy or when you went on your first road trip with friends or when you had your first kiss. Songs always remind me of little memories.

One thing that can also make you travel back in time is scents. Sometimes, when you smell something, it pinpoints a certain memory in your mind.

MIDDLE SCHOOL CRUSHES: Sweet Pea at Bath and Body Works
When I was in middle school, I pretty much lived in Bath and Body Works scents. For every holiday and birthday, my friends and I always exchanged Bath and Body Works lotions, body washes, plug-ins, etc. One of my favorites was Sweet Pea, not only because it was pink and smelled awesome, but also because that's my dad's nickname for me. I also enjoyed Cucumber Melon and Japanese Cherry Blossom.

Probably the most hideous picture taken of me ever. Also, my first time ever dancing with a boy.
PUBERTY: Paris Hilton
I've never been a huge Paris Hilton fan, but I do love her first perfume. I remember when I first discovered this perfume, I was obsessed. Too bad I didn't know how to wear perfume. I was so used to my little middle school body spray scents that I used it like that. Little did I know, you could probably smell me from a mile away. I wore so much of it. The only person who complained was my older brother, and my parents sat me down for a talk to tell me that I was wearing too much. I have no idea why no one actually tried to teach me how to wear it. All of my poor classmates had to deal with it for weeks!

I guess I loved myself. Check the military crease in my pants.
FRESHMAN YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL: Pure Seduction at Victoria's Secret
When I was younger, I used to be embarrassed just to walk by Victoria's Secret. It was a sexy store, and I didn't want anyone to think of me as sexy. I didn't even really know what it meant to be sexy. When I first ventured into the store, I was attracted to the scents, and I would spend time smelling all of them, but not buying anything (I was in high school after all, and I had zero money). When I discovered Pure Seduction, I fell in love with it, and I still wear it today.

Freshman year: When I discovered the art of layering. And yes, I did choose those glasses all by myself.
DALLAS ROAD TRIPS: Juicy Couture
When I went on my first road trip to Dallas, my high school friends (who I'm still friends with now) introduced me to Juicy Couture. How I had never heard of the store before is a mystery to me. I guess I lived under a rock. At the time, they only had their first perfume out, and we all agreed it smelled so awful, but my friend, Sarah, gave us teeny tiny bottles of it for Christmas anyway. Later, they came out with Viva La Juicy, which was a huge improvement, and I have a small bottle of it that I like to dash on from time to time.

High school = a lot of duck faces and not smiling in any pictures
COLLEGE: Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift
I loved Taylor ever since I first saw her music video for "Tim McGraw," so of course I jumped at the chance to use her perfume when I was college. My mom bought me my first bottle, and I still use the scent almost every day.

What are some of your favorite memories associated with scents?

things i wish i would've done in high school.

Trust me, I have no desire to go back to high school. Some parts were really fun - making friends (that I still have now), being editor-in-chief of the newspaper, part-time jobs, parties, road trips, etc. etc. etc. Then there were also the really crappy parts - drama, part-time jobs (no free time), being poor, ex-boyfriends, etc. etc. etc. But when I think of some parts of high school, I think of a lot missed opportunities. If I could go back to high school, I would...

...go to football games.
I probably averaged one football game a year. Actually not even that, because I moved to Louisiana after football season had ended, so no football games my freshman year. Sophomore year, my friends didn't go to football games, so I didn't either. Junior year, I think I went to one game. Senior year, I know for sure that I went to one game because my friends and I made shirts.

I definitely wish I would have gone to more. I was not big on school spirit because I liked my school in South Carolina better. My LA high school was a major downgrade, so no football games for Tiffany.

...job shadow.
Granted, I had no idea what I wanted to do when I was in high school, but I still wish I would have gotten some job shadowing experience. For my last two years of high school, I wanted to be a journalist. Why didn't I take the opportunity to job shadow someone working at the local newspaper or something? Why?

...take art.
I love to paint now, and I was too scared in high school to take art because I was afraid I wouldn't be good enough. I took art all through middle school in South Carolina, but when I moved to Louisiana, I just wasn't feeling it. During my senior year of college, I started painting random things, just googling images and painting duplicates or adapting my own creations. I took a few watercolor painting classes, and I loved them, in spite of it being the hardest thing I've done ever. Sigh.

This was the magnolia painting that I did for my watercolor class. It was the only painting I finished. I had to quit because I got a promotion, and the classes were from 12:30 to 2:30 on Wednesdays. Can't do that anymore.

...save money.
I was never without a job during high school, so why didn't I have anything to show for it? I was constantly spending money on hanging out with friends. I also insisted on getting a credit card (yikes!) and getting off of my parents' phone plan so that I could get unlimited texting. I was way too quick to fly away from the nest, so I was always po'.

...travel.
The only places I traveled to while I was in high school were Dallas (two road trips with the girls) and South Carolina (to visit the family). I wish I would've saved my money and gone someplace worthy of telling people about like a cross country road trip or a trip to Europe or freaking AUSTRALIA. I will get there someday, dang it!

This is from one of our trips to Dallas. And yea, the girl's hair on the far right is indeed fake. She bought a hair clip. Like a real hair clip if ya catch my drift.

...try out for a lead role in High School Musical.
No, I'm not talking about the movie; we did the play during my senior year at school. I was an extra, a skater to be exact. I still got to be onstage a lot because HSM has all those musical numbers, ya know? I wish I would've tried out for Taylor though. I was too chicken. Clearly I had confidence issues.
