Endless Bliss | Happy Lifestyle Blog: 21 Movies to Watch with Your Girlfriends.

21 Movies to Watch with Your Girlfriends.

Most of us like to go out on the town, have a few drinks with the girls and go dancing. Or maybe even go to a wine tasting or see a local band play. There are so many things that are fun to go out and do with our girls, but sometimes, it's nice to just have a cozy night in with a bottle of wine and sappy movie that our boyfriends would disapprove of. Yes, the endings are predictable and yes, we've seen them all a million times, but that's exactly why we love them!
In no particular order, because they're all equally awesome
JAWBREAKER
An oldie but goodie. Also, a good reminder of what not to do if you want to surprise your girlfriend for her birthday. Birthday surprise=yes. Shoving a jawbreaker in her mouth and then duct-taping shut to take her to the surprise=no.

MEAN GIRLS
Ten years later, and we're all still quoting this movie like it just came out in theatres. Not only is this movie filled with unparalleled hilarity, it also has an awesome message behind it. If you and your girls have been friends since this movie came out, then it will definitely take you back to a time when the girls were not so nice, and you'll be so, so grateful that times have changed, but luckily, your friendship hasn't.

HOW TO LOSE A GUY IN 10 DAYS
Kate Hudson is just absolutely brilliant in this movie, and her dress is to-die for. She and Matthew McConaughey are laughably adorable. Plus, this movie created love ferns everywhere!
{source}
BRIDESMAIDS
This movie will never not be funny. Anytime I even think about a Bridesmaids quote, I buckle over in laughter. This movie will help y'all think about all of the crazy shenanigans that will happen at your future nuptials.
{source}
LETTERS TO JULIET
Totally cheesy. Totally predictable. And totally brilliant. This movie serves as a simple reminder that you and your girls need to start planning your trip to Italy ASAP!
{source}
POST-GRAD
Because we all know the struggle. We're all living in that struggle, and we're all grateful to have each other to go through the struggle together.

{source}
SWEET HOME ALABAMA
While this movie is clearly telling us that we should go back to our hometowns and marry our first loves, we shouldn't take the message so lightly. Let's just keep the past in the past and keep moving forward. Just watch the movie to play a fun little game of 'what if,' and if any of your girls are planning on reverting back to their first love, quickly snap them back to reality.
{source}
PRIDE AND PREJUDICE
This movie will never not be good. Let the "why don't mean speak to women like that anymore" conversation ensue.
{source}
LEGALLY BLONDE
Proof that if you make tons of life changes for a guy, the guy will still end up being a jerk. Make changes for yourself. Don't chase after guys. Bonus: watch the musical on YouTube. It's freaking cute.

WHAT A GIRL WANTS
This movie is telling us to go find our long lost fathers in London. Don't have an estranged father? Maybe go search for your brother or uncle or fourth cousin twice removed. Any way to get to England. How else will you find the love of your life?
{source}
A CINDERELLA STORY
A classic retelling of our favorite fairy tale. Plus, if anything has Lizzie McGuire in it, we're totally there.
{source}
BRIDGET JONES'S DIARY
So you might think that your life sucks, but really it can't get much worse than Bridget Jones's. Plus, watching her story unfold will make you want to speak in English (not British) accents for the rest of the night.
{source}
THE HOLIDAY
The best movie ever. Everyone can relate to at least one person in this movie. After the movie, y'all can go to Wal-Mart and wait around in the pajama section for your "meet cute."
{source}
ENCHANTED
Because we've all been dreaming of a true love's kiss.
{source}
BRING IT ON
We all know all the cheers, and it's even more fun to perform them in front of the TV screen with your girls. It's like you're actually part of the squad. Ready? Okay!
{source}
10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU
RIP Heath. We're all still holding on to the hope that our future boyfriends will try to woo us with a romantic rendition of "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" complete with participation from the whole band and the audience of the entire school.
{source}
SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS
Because in your group of four friends, you've already figured out who is who. (I'm Carmen, the writer.)
{source}
FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS
Any movie with Justin Timberlake is a winner. I mean, hellooooo teenage fantasies. Plus, it has Mila Kunis. Total girl crush. This movie also gives hope to any of your friends who may have a little FWB action going on.

CRAZY, STUPID LOVE
I could watch this movie a million times and still think it's absolutely adorable and hilarious. Ryan Gosling - swoon. Emma Stone - wannabe BFFs. Steve Carrell - laughing so hard you get side cramps. Everything you could possibly want all wrapped in a shiny, little DVD.
{source}
BURLESQUE
The perfect movie to watch when you want to pretend that your living room dance moves could actually lead to a solid career.
{source}
PRINCESS DIARIES
Perfect for the princess in all of us. For all you know, you could have some royal blood in you after all. And finally, you get to get that kiss from the guy you've been swooning after your whole life. Serving suggestion: Order a large cheese pizza with M&M's.

  1. I love this! What a fun list. You're missing Pitch Perfect, though, in my opinion. ;)

    Some of these I haven't seen in years! Loved Sweet Home Alabama. And Bridesmaids was hilarious. A lot of them are old school for me.

  2. ahh jawbreaker! I totally forgot about that movie! Catch & Release is another girly movie I've always loved to watch with friends!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Those are GREAT movies! I haven't seen a few of them. I always love to watch Ever After and She's All That!

    ReplyDelete
  6. I think I've seen them all . . . with my husband! We take turns picking movies for date night and I generally pick a chick flick! He's a great sport about it!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I love this! I am actually bookmarking this for future reference. I've never seen Jawbreaker, so I guess that just means I'll have to watch it! Also, Post Grad is the most painfully accurate movie right now (minus the hot guys, but whatever...)

    Hahaha...I like so many of these like Jawbreaker, 10 Things I Hate About You, and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Both of my sisters LOVE chick flicks...Any one of these movies would be great to watch with the two of them!

  9. This is a perfect list! Only one I haven't seen is burlesque. And I do not know why I've never seen it. Hopefully its on Netflix.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I have a few of these I haven't watched yet. I love Enchanted and Bring it on, but could never watch all of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Good list.

    ReplyDelete
  11. So many memories... I've seen all of these multiple times! Some of them are on repeat in my sorority house, and I can quote Mean Girls in almost every situation. Great picks!

  12. Mean Girls will ALWAYS be relevant.

    ReplyDelete
  13. You've got to give How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days another chance! Haha. Enchanted is one of my all time favorite movies!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Burlesque is so awesome! I love any movie with singing and dancing, and of course, Christina is so talented!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Chick flicks are my favorite! I would say it's a guilty pleasure, but I don't feel guilty about it at all haha.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Jawbreaker is so awesome! I saw it for the first time in high school and fell in love with it. It's really, really sad how accurate Post Grad is right now. Such a struggle.

    ReplyDelete
  17. That's so funny that you've seen them with your husband! My boyfriend has sat through a few of these and likes some, though he'd never admit it. That's nice that you take turns picking movies! I usually can whine my way to getting my pick, but every once in awhile, I let him pick.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Those are both awesome movies! She's All That is just so great! I haven't watched it in such a long time.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yes! They always just make me smile and bring me back. I will never not like those movies.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yay! I'm glad. I've seen all of these movies multiple times, and I don't love them any less.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I always forget how much I love Jawbreaker until I watch it again. I've never seen Catch & Release! Not because I didn't want to, but I've just never had the opportunity. I'll have to check it out!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I LOVE PITCH PERFECT! I can't believe I forgot to include it on this list. It's literally one of my favorites.

    ReplyDelete
  23. How did I completely forget about "Jawbreaker"? It was like the "Mean Girls" of the late 90's! So crazy!!!! Great list.

    ReplyDelete
  24. AHHHH I love all of these. I would also include "Never Been Kissed" "Titanic" (we all need a good cry now and then, yeah?) and maybe "A Walk To Remember". Plus, the men in these movies are in their prime! Giving some nice eye candy. (:

    And if there's a few sports loving girls I would definitely go with "Bend It Like Beckham"!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm in love with half the movies on this list. I do kind of hate a couple, but that's to be expected. I've never seen Jawbreaker! I need to. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is a huge huge thing for me - the books too. I don't know that I ever was one of the girls, at least until I went to college and read the fourth book and had one of those really amazing, comforting, unforgettable experiences of relating with a character - with Carmen, that particular time, even though I'm nothing like Carmen at all.

    The movies though. God, I love them so much. And I love the girls they cast. And from a lot of these movies I still have music I listen to regularly — How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days in particular, and The Holiday — I LOVE the score from that movie. I also have a ton of music from Serendipity, which I'd totally add to this list.

  26. Alright, I am ready for a girls night now!!!

  28. Though I haven't seen a few, i've seen most. I agree definitely some good movies to watch on a girls day in.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Great list! Pride and Prejudice is one of my all time favorites! A few on this list I still need to watch but I don't get to have to many girls night ins because of kids. When your old like me, you can't wait to get out!!! ;) lol

    ReplyDelete
  30. soome of these I haven't seen but you must find a spot for Pretty Woman in there! Or My Best Friend's Wedding. Or Mona Lisa Smile. Can you tell I'm a big Julia Roberts fan?? lol Speaking of Julia...I also love the movie Julie & Julia! The Holiday is one of my favorites!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Oh, my sisters and I just LOVE Enchanted! It's just so hilarious! And to be perfectly honest, I think it was just as funny seeing Cyclops doing the Prince as it was seeing the Prince be so adorably stupid. ;) Well, okay, looking foolish. AWESOME movie. Love it. And great list, Tiffany!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think I've seen maybe half of these but the other half looks awesome. Definitely worth adding to my Must Watch list :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Enchanted is so funny and so sweet! There aren't enough words for how much I love that movie.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Pretty Woman is a classic! I love that movie too. It was so hard to narrow this list down. I may have to do another. My Best Friend's Wedding was also amazing. My heart just broke for her. Poor thing. I've never seen Mona Lisa Smile! I'll have to add that to my list. Julia Roberts is so amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Haha I'm sure I will be the same way when I have kids! Pride and Prejudice is just such a beautiful story and movie. I love watching it.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Girls nights in are so much fun to me. It's a nice time to bond and spend some quality time with the girls. I also enjoy nights in with my boyfriend. I hope you check out the movies on the list you haven't seen yet!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Right?! I just want to have a girly movie watching marathon.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was one of the most perfect book series. I loved what they did with the movies too, particularly the first one. I feel like I related to each of the characters in certain ways, but I definitely related to Carmen most of all. Everything with her family and uncertainties and friendship and so much more. I feel like all girls should read those books.

    The score from The Holiday is so AMAZING! I love it too. I've never seen Serendipity. I'll have to check that out!

    ReplyDelete
  45. A Walk to Remember is one of my all-time favorite movies. I completely forgot about it! It should totally be on the list. That and Pitch Perfect. Titanic is amazing too. It really is a tear-jerker though. She totally could have made room for him! Bend It Like Beckham - I love that movie! I also love She's the Man, another movie for the sporty girls!

    ReplyDelete
  46. It definitely was! Jawbreaker didn't get as much love as it should have, but I adore that movie. It's insane and hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I also forgot A Walk to Remember and so many others. Maybe I should make a second list haha.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I've never met someone who actually noticed the score from The Holiday! It just makes me feel like I'm going to get somewhere. So much hope there.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I don't know why but I prefer girls nights in then girls nights out, but either way I am just happy to spend time with the people you love. I've already added the movies I haven't seen to my must watch list! I know a lot I've heard of but just never gave it a second look. thank you again for sharing it's such an awesome list.

    ReplyDelete
  50. You're very welcome! I enjoy nights in as well. It's just relaxing to sit down and enjoy company and actually be able to talk. I hope you enjoy watching these!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Yes! It's just so beautiful. I usually don't notice movie scores, but The Holiday's was just so good. It's the perfect background music for writing or painting.
