Endless Bliss | Happy Lifestyle Blog: when famous people tweet you back.

when famous people tweet you back.

I live in north Louisiana. Not exactly the hip place for famous people to visit (or non-famous people for that matter). Even though there have been a lot of movies filmed here in the past few years, it's still pretty rare to run into any kind of famous person at a restaurant or while you're out shopping or hitting up the casino. I've only met a couple, but not anyone that I would go completely gaga over like Zac Efron or the Olsen twins or Kerry Washington.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not one of those people that stalks celebrities or anything like that. I don't even keep up with their lives, unless I'm following them on Twitter, but even then, it's minuscule cause I don't get their tweets to my phone.

My point is - I don't have my interactions with famous people, so when a well-known person tweets me back, I literally take screenshots and send them to all my friends. I'm that girl. And that's not to say I've had much Twitter interaction with celebs either. My celeb interaction, virtual or not, is clearly nothing to brag about. But I really love celebrities who tweet back to their fans, like Blake Shelton. I mean, you know no one else in the world can come up with that crazy stuff he says.

A lot of my famous people Twitter action has been from authors. I know several people wouldn't get excited about this, but I sure do. Every. Single. Time. Seriously. When authors favorite, retweet, or reply to my tweets, I can't stop smiling. Then I send those screenshots to all of my bookworm friends who would appreciate it. I have had some other Twitter excitement though.

AUTHORS
I had a lot of author Twitter action when I went to the Austin Teen Book Festival, but I've had some since then too, because I'm always reading and tweeting authors, silently hoping that they're going to read it and holla at me.

Sarah Dessen: I've been reading Sarah Dessen since middle school, so seeing her in person, I was freaking out. Then she retweeted me, and I could barely stay in my seat for the rest of the festival. Too giddy. Still am. Eeeek!

Jenny Han: She is literally the cutest Asian person to have ever lived. I say that because I'm only half Asian. Otherwise, it would be me. Duh. Yeah, I'm humble. And kidding. Anyway. I get so excited every time Jenny (first name basis? Oh.) shows me some Twitter love. We're practically BFF's right? No?

Leila Sales: She is another author I met at ATBF, and her book, This Song Will Save Your Life, was so awesome that I read it in less than 24 hours. Of course, I tweeted about it, and she favorited it. Yes!

Lisa McMann: She took a photo of my sister and me (and the rest of the audience) at ATBF. We did a little pose for her in the pic. When I tweeted about it, she favorited it.

Marissa Meyer: ...I can't even explain my love for her. She is seriously the sweetest person. And both of the books I've read by her have been so awesome. (Impatiently waiting for Cress to come out.)She just seems so humble about her work. Not to mention, she's replied to 2 of the 3 tweets that I tweeted about her. I think that says a lot about how awesome she is.

Bill Konigsberg: He retweeted me after I did a review of his book on here. I probably smiled for about 24 hours without stopping. Ahh!

MUSICIANS

2AM Club: I don't listen to 2 AM Club on the reg, but I heard this song on a playlist a couple weeks ago, and I loved it. I like to just tweet songs, and I did this one, and they replied. Say whaaat?

Jenae Cherry: I met Jenae Cherry (now Brach, but she'll still be Cherry for musical purposes) twice, and she's really awesome. I've blogged about her before. If you like country, go check out her site. She's going to become a household name soon enough. But anyway, I tweeted her to say congrats on her getting married, and she favorited it.

Aaron Carter: So I followed Aaron Carter, and he sent me this direct message. You say that it automatically gets sent out to all of his new followers, I say I don't care. It counts in my mind. I want to go to Aaron's party! Heyyy!

ACTORS

David Guintoli: That should really just say "ACTOR" because the only one who has tweeted me back is David Guintoli. ACA-BELIEVE IT! I couldn't stop grinning for like a week. (Smiling now while typing this) I watch Grimm every Friday, and sometimes he live tweets, and he replied to one of mine. OMG!

Like I said, my Twitter interaction with famous (err...mostly semi-famous-ish) people is nothing to brag about, but I seriously fangirled over every single one. Oh, and David Guintoli is my computer background now. Promise I'm not obsessed or anything though... Still waiting on Twitter replies from Zac Efron, Ellen Degeneres, and Taylor Swift.

  2. LOVE this! I think meeting/tweeting authors is one of the coolest "celebrity" things! I feel so much more inspired by them than I do regular "celebs" although I would most definitely probably fangirl a bit over plenty of them :)

  9. I am definitely the same way. I think I got more excited about the authors because they inspired me in a way that no one else has.

  12. Yes! I've had twitter for about 4 years now (maybe longer. I don't really remember), and I love it so much! It's my favorite social media outlet.

  13. Oh yea. Just hangin with all the cool celebs...on twitter.

  14. I know! It makes them seem so much more accessible. I think it says a lot about a person if they have thousands or even millions of fans and/or followers, but they still take the time to tweet people back.

  15. Haha yes! I still like to pretend he sent that personalized message to just me.

  17. Haha oh yea. I'm always screenshotting. I don't know what I did before having it. It's just so convenient!

  18. Omg, I used to be in LOVE with Aaron Carter! I might just follow him to see if that is an automatic message haha and to relieve my teenage years.

  19. Yes! I was so jealous of Hilary Duff when she got to kiss him on the Lizzie McGuire Christmas episode. I definitely debated buying backstage passes to his concert this past summer.

  21. hahaha, your enthusiasm makes me grin! :) And you really know your current authors! I feel like all of the authors I'd list as favorites are dead. I need to start reading newer books.

  22. Me too! After I stumbled onto this today, I figured I should do an updated one because I've gotten some really awesome celeb responses lately. I love how Twitter really blurs the gap between celebrity and "normal" people. It makes me so happy when I see celebrities live tweeting or responding to their fans.

  23. Right?! I love him so much. I seriously couldn't stop grinning for at least a week.

  24. I was actually thinking the other day that I should read more classics, so I suppose we can switch places temporarily for our reading habits. I haven't read as many older books as I'd like. I need to get on that!
