Endless Bliss | Happy Lifestyle Blog: DIY chevron jewelry holder.

DIY chevron jewelry holder.

I've been struggling with trying to figure how the heck I was going to organize all of my jewelry. I had a coffee date with my friend, Katherine, this past weekend, and she told me that she went to Home Depot to get ceiling tiles and turned those into jewelry holders. When I went to Home Depot (and Lowe's), I found out that they only sell the tiles in multi-packs, and I didn't need 4 (or 20) ceiling tiles, so I opted for a different option. Here's how to make a jewelry holder on the cheap.

Foam board: $1.47 at Wal-Mart
1-2 yards of chevron fabric: $3.47/yard
Push pins: $1 at Dollar Tree
Glue gun and glue sticks (had already)
X-acto knife (had already)

Additional materials I used for hanging:
Hammer
Nails
Ribbon

Directions:
Cut the foam board.
It can be whatever size/shape you want. I didn't have a ruler, so my squares were very imperfect, but I didn't care. You are going to need to pieces of foam board of equal shape and size to make one holder.

Hot glue the boards together.

Cut the fabric.
Make sure you have about 1-2 inches of extra fabric on each side.

Hot glue the fabric on the board.
Make sure you pull tight before you glue to get the least amount of wrinkles. (Sorry about my chipped nails. Yikes!)

Place your jewelry on the board.
Lay your jewelry onto the board to decide exactly where you want each of your pieces to be.

Push pins into the boards.
When you've decided where you want your jewelry to be, push your pins into your board.

Hang your jewelry holder.
There are a number of ways you can do this. You can use command strips or some other method. I used the hot glue gun to glue ribbon to the back of the board and hung it from a nail.

You're done!

Have y'all ever made a jewelry holder? If you use my tutorial, please send me pictures and let me know how it went!
