Bridge to Desire {Book Review}.

I received a complimentary copy of this book to review through one of my blog friends, Sockwun, who blogs at ExtraExtravagant. She's awesome, and you should definitely go check out her blog! 
Bridge to Desire tells the story of a girl named Lissa who works as an assistant at a law firm. She just broke up with her boyfriend who has proposed to her again. One day, a girl named Sam comes sauntering into the law firm, and Lissa is intrigued by her. Lissa makes known that the law firm is planning on building a development in the west part of the city, and Sam throws a fit, saying that they can't destroy the animals' habitats. She probes Lissa into visiting this part of the city with her the next day.  Sam and Lissa's relationship gets intimate pretty fast, and they share an intense moment under a bridge. Lissa becomes confused about her feelings for Sam. At the end of the book, Lissa said that she's come up with a plan to save the forest that her boss's company had planned to destroy. This book was only 18 pages, so it was a pretty quick read. Unfortunately, I cringed through most of it. The book is an LGBT novel with a lot of intimate moments. Moments that I do not want to read about. Moments that I've never read about before and don't plan on reading about again. This sort of novel was not my thing because I just don't enjoy reading any sort of erotica, and boy, this had a bunch in it.  The story developed pretty quickly, obviously because it is such a short story. I think I would have found the story more enjoyable if it didn't have the erotic situation in it. Okay, guys, I know I'm 24, but I'm just awkward when it comes to reading and/or talking about that stuff. Sue me. This novel wasn't for me. Putting that aside, I do think the back story was interesting. Lissa being confused about her feelings for Sam after just breaking up with her boyfriend/could've-been-fiance. Lissa flip-flopping to try to help save the forest rather than destroy it was pretty sweet. All of the other stuff pretty much ruined the book for me though, so my apologies to the author. The book was actually well-written, but this particular genre just wasn't for me.
