Motivated Mondays: How Will Others Tell Your Story?
What's the first thing you think of after reading the following quote?
Taylor Swift. Am I right? Okay, maybe that was just me, but really, when I saw this quote, I was inspired. So much truth behind it. Lots of things happen to us throughout our lives, and for the most part, all we want to do is share our stories. Talk about ourselves. Talk about our experiences. Find someone who can relate to our stories. I think that's why I love blogging so much. My friends and family get so tired of hearing me tell my stories over and over that I decided I want to share my stories with the world and try to connect with people who have similar stories to my own.
Since we're already on the Taylor Swift topic, this is one of my favorite quotes by her:
This is so true. Sometimes, I imagine my funeral. I know. Weird. But I do. I imagine who will show up. Who will cry. Who won't care. Who will act like we were best friends when I haven't spoken to them in years. Who will travel several miles just to celebrate my short life. What will be said about me. My hope is that I left a positive mark on the people in my life. So positive that that's all anyone can think of when they're at my funeral. Not that I'm gone, but that I inspired them to live a happier life. I think that's a goal that everyone should have.
If you've never read The Fault in Our Stars, you should go read it. One of the main characters, Augustus, is set on becoming a legend and making something of himself before he dies. He wants to be remembered by everyone in the world while the other main character, Hazel, just wants to be remembered by the people she loves. I'm trying to live my life like Hazel. I just want the people around me to have fond memories of me.
So think of the quotes I shared and decide, not only how you want your story to be told, but also how you want other people to tell their stories about you.
