How to be an Awesome Gift Giver.
I love thinking of the perfect gift for someone. Sometimes it takes forever for me to think of something, but then all of a sudden, it clicks, and I just get so excited! I'm also a big fan of making gifts. I've been called a pretty good gift giver a few times in my life, and I'm excited to share some of the things I do to find the perfect gift for someone.
Plan Ahead
If I have to think of a gift last minute, I get really stressed out. It's only when I plan ahead that my true gift giving skills come out to play. You should give yourself enough time to think of something. In November, start making a list of people you need to by a Christmas gift for. This will give you some time to go Black Friday shopping too and get some great deals. For birthdays and other occasions, like weddings, baby showers, graduations, etc., try planning a few weeks ahead to give you ample time to think of a gift.
Listen
When people want something, they're usually not quiet about it, especially when there's an occasion coming up. Pay attention to the things the person says, like what bands they may want to see, what new things that are coming out that they may want, etc.
Write Things Down
I'm a bit scatterbrained, and I find that if I don't write things down, I tend to forget them. If the person you're looking to buy a gift for mentions something in passing or says something they like, just jot a quick note to refer to later.
Research
If the person you're shopping for has a Pinterest, browse their Pinterest boards to get some ideas. You can also look at their other social media outlets to get some ideas as well. Ask some of their other friends and their family members if they have any ideas of things you could get and/or what they're getting.
Remember that when buying a gift for someone, you don't have to spend a ton of money, and you don't need to stress. Give yourself plenty of time to find something that the person you're shopping for will like. If your gift is from the heart, rather than generic, the gift receiver will love it!
And speaking of awesome gifts, I'm participating in an amazing Memorial Day giveaway with Val from In-Between Life, and you should definitely enter below to win a $100 Target gift card and $15 Starbucks gift card!

I have to have sunscreen for summer, I burn so easily!
ReplyDeleteI love this! Giving gifts are really fun for me. My favorite part is wrapping it! :)
ReplyDeleteI also love planning gift out. I actually have a birthday party next Saturday for a 7 year old girl. Once I got back from Paris I went out and got her a gift.
ReplyDeleteI might have flip flop for summer time
Such good, simple tips! It makes shopping for someone so much easier when you pay attention to things they've mentioned!
ReplyDeleteI really need to start wearing it regularly on my face. I usually get burned on my nose, but I've gotten burned on my right shoulder once. It didn't hurt; it just peeled.
ReplyDeleteI wish I was good at wrapping presents! I'm horrible. If it's not Christmas, I usually just opt to get a gift bag and put some tissue in it.
ReplyDeleteI love planning out the perfect gift for people. That's awesome that you got a gift for her party. I need to get some more flip-flops. I only have one pair because I've ruined all of my other ones.
ReplyDeleteTumblers! I don't know what I ever did without them. My old car had a sunroof, and now the one I have doesn't! Such a shame, but rolling the windows down works for me too!
ReplyDeleteExactly! Anytime someone says they want something, I make a note of it in my phone so when a time comes that I need to get them a gift, I'll be ready!
ReplyDeleteCheap flip-flops + awesome, comfy Birks are my essentials!
ReplyDeleteExactly! My sister's graduation is tomorrow, and I was going to make something, but what I wanted to make will take too much time, so I'm getting her something else. I only know a handful of guys that use Pinterest. It would be so much easier if they all did! Luckily, my boyfriend has an Amazon wishlist, so I can just shop off of that!
ReplyDeleteCheap flip flops are a must!

ReplyDeleteMy summer essentials: sunblock!, plastic tumblers for outdoor parties, and a sunroof :)
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas! I hate waiting last minute, because I usually end up making people presents and they take time. They usually don't get them till a month or a year later, lol. Following their pinterest is the best idea yet. If guys only used that site too then they'd never feel obligated to ask what their girl wants, the could just know! haha
