Motivated Monday: You're right where you're supposed to be.

I'm guilty of comparing myself to other people. I think most people are. It's just a part of life. Sometimes, I'll get on Facebook and look at what people my age are doing with their lives, and I envy them for moving out of Louisiana or getting to travel to exotic places or landing their dream jobs. I start picturing how my perfect life looks like and start beating myself up for not having everything that I want. Then I give myself a wake-up call.
Hellooooo! You're only 24!

I think it's awesome to have goals. I have quite a few myself, but one of my goals shouldn't be to be like everyone I graduated with. Life is a journey that we all take on our own. Maybe my life won't lead to me living on the beach and working as an event planner with 3 novels that I published on the side (actually, I highly doubt it), but that doesn't mean my life isn't awesome!
Just because your life isn't how you pictured it ten years ago, doesn't mean it isn't perfect. You're where you are right now because that's where you're supposed to be. Everything you want will come in due time as long you have the patience and the drive to work for it.
Happy Monday, and stay positive!

  1. This is so true! "Comparison is the thief of joy." It is human nature to compare ourselves to others, but at the same time, it's a little silly. People don't share the negative things in their lives on Facebook, so we don't see the whole story. I'm glad you're fighting that urge to compare! :)

  3. Exactly! We are both young and have lots of things to accomplish. We're not supposed to have everything figured out.

  5. So true. I think we can all relate to comparing ourselves to others and thinking that their lives are so much better than ours. This reminds me of the quote "Don't compare your beginning to someone else's middle." One of my guests gave me a piece of Dove chocolate the other day at work, and I wasn't having the best day, and I opened it up and the quote was "You are exactly where you are supposed to be." As cheesy as it sounds, it totally made me feel better.

On an unrelated note, I just found a bunch of Valentine's from when I was in elementary school, and there are Harry Potter and Mary-Kate and Ashley and I thought of you! (:

  6. Love the quote. Social Media I think leads to so much more self doubt these days but you are right. We are where we're suppose to be and we'll get where we're going in due time. Have a great week.

  7. You're right and it is about the journey. Everyone has their own path and story (but it is hard not to compare to others). Be your fabulous self! :)

  8. It's definitely hard to compare to others. That's a challenge in and of itself, but I'm definitely trying! :)

  9. This is my first time on your blog and I love this post. For the longest time I was comparing myself with others and I finally realized how wrong that is. Everyone has different dreams and who's to say that others' dreams are more reachable than mine, I was just always so focused on others' dreams and how I would get there one day....even though I really didn't want to be there. But I think I'm on the right track now, or so I hope haha. Regardless, I'm glad I found you through Bloglovin. I'm a new blogger myself and enjoy new friends, check out www.boardingtogether.blogspot.com when you have a chance.

  10. Welcome to Endless Bliss! I'm glad that you love this post. Everything you said was so right. I'm still struggling with not comparing myself to others. It's a journey, but I'm trying, and I guess that's all that matters. Can't wait to check out your blog!

  11. Love this. I constantly have to remind myself I'm only 22 and have the majority of my life left to live ahead of me!

  12. Social media is definitely a factor! And the internet in general. I remember when I was younger, I actually went outside instead of spending so much time on the computer. Now people are glued to their phones and constantly comparing themselves to, not only their peers, but also celebrities. It's pretty awful.

  13. It's the little surprises like that that make the days better, even when it is cheesy! That's so awesome that you found HP and MKA Valentines! I want some! I may have to go on the hunt. I doubt I'll MKA, but HP is very possible. They have HP stamps now! We got some at work and I geeked out hardcore.
