Motivated Mondays: Musically Inspired
I had a pretty busy weekend filled with lots of writing (and other random things like reading - just finished The Maze Runner - and picking up trash, catching up on TV shows, playing with my puppy, the usual), and I was just feeling so inspired. This past week, we had an important visitor from corporate come visit the hotel, and at lunch, we went around the table and talked a little bit about what we like to do. I said that I have a blog and that I really like to write and hope to publish a book someday.
Woah.
I don't even know why I said those things. No one in the room had any idea that I blogged or that I wanted to write a book. This was the first time that I mentioned my blog to my superiors, and I was relieved when they didn't judge me. They were actually impressed, and my direct boss even complimented my writing (I take minutes at meetings, and even though it's a completely different style of writing, it was nice to get complimented on something I enjoy doing).
Talking about my blog and writing a book just really motivated and inspired me to really start focusing on writing my book. I went to the library and got three books filled with awesome book writing tips.
While planning and doing some outlines for my book, I listened to my "inspired." playlist on Spotify, and I wanted to share some of my favorite songs that really inspired to keep doing what I love.
Whole Wide World by Mindy Gledhill
Little Light by Rachel Platten
Cannonball by Lea Michele
Not There Yet by Eric Hutchinson
Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield

Thanks so much! It's a lot of work, but I'm hoping it'll be worth it.
ReplyDeleteI love Switchfoot too! They were my first concert, and it was awesome! Their opener was The Format, which is now fun. and I actually got to meet them. That was forever ago though.

ReplyDeleteMy coworkers at my job know that I blog as well and are very supportive! It's a great feeling! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is! It empowers me and makes me want to blog more and talk about it with more people in my life. I understand that a lot of people won't get it, but that's okay. It's something I'm passionate about, and now I just want to share it with everyone!
ReplyDeleteI love when others mention that I blog or ask about blogging. It verifies that someone other than my husband and Mom read my blog. It's the best feeling. And you choose some great tunes! Happy Monday.
