My Favorite Mashups.

favorite song mashups
I've talked about music a time or two on this blog, but something I've never talked about is mashups. I seriously love mashups. The first mash-up I ever fell in love with was with Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and Oasis's "Wonderwall." Talk about a flawless combination. I actually preferred it to the original "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," because it sounded so amazing.
My love for mashups has not subsided, and with so many talented people in the world, there are so many mashups to be heard and fall in love with! These are a few of my favorites:

Calvin Harris's "Summer" and Disclosure's "Latch" performed by The Gardiner Sisters
I've mentioned the Gardiner Sisters before, because I adore them so much. They're all so pretty and so sweet and funny, and I have total girl crushes on the main three in the group - Mandy, Hailey, and Allie. Mandy is my absolute fave, but I digress. This mashup is so sultry, and the way they put them together makes it sound like the two were meant to be sung together. When I first heard it, I seriously listened to is several times a day every day for about two weeks straight. A good portion of those views are thanks to yours truly, so you're welcome Gardiner Sisters.

Lil Wayne's "How to Love" (+ several other songs) mashup performed by Ashley Birch
Ashley is actually a person that I went to school with, and she has no idea who I am so I almost feel creepy posting her video. She performed this mashup at the talent show my senior year, and it was so incredible. On a whim, I did a search to see if she had a YouTube channel, and I was thrilled when I discovered it, because the mashup is amazing. Don't let the comfy sweats and v-neck deter you from watching this video, because I assure you, she's so talented, and the stream of songs that she puts together to make this mashup is #flawless.

1989 mashup performed by Kurt Hugo Schneider and Sam Tsui
Y'all already know I love me some Taylor Swift, and this mashup includes EVERY SINGLE SONG from 1989. They streamed all of the songs together so flawlessly. I'm already a fan of Kurt and Sam, but this mashup just further solidified it.

NYSNC medley performed by Pentatonix
Okay, y'all. NYSNC is my shiz. I was always Team NSYNC, and when I first discovered this, I seriously shared it with everyone I knew because it's just too amazing not to share. This (and the Evolution of Music video) is what made me fall in love with Pentatonix. They're so talented already, and the fact that they love NSYNC enough to do a medley like this just put them over the top for me.

"I Feel Pretty" from West Side Story and TLC's "Unpretty" mashup performed by the Glee Cast
This song gives me chills every time I listen to it. I think all girls can relate to this struggle at some point in their lives, and many guys as well. Quinn and Rachel's voice just mesh so well together, and, gosh, I just love this mashup!

The Fray/Kings of Leon/Kesha mashup performed by Savannah Outen
I wish I could tell you how long I've been subscribed to Savannah Outen on YouTube, but it would be impossible because this is my second YouTube account, and I was following her on my first YouTube account from way back when, so let's just say it's been a long time. I've just always thought she was so talented, and it's been amazing to watch her evolve as an artist. I feel like I've been on the journey with her. Anyway, this mashup is so incredible. I love all three of the songs that she sang, and she put them together so beautifully. (Side note: After writing this post, I went to go find my other YouTube channel, and apparently it's still live, and I made this embarrassingly horrible video with Savannah. Omg.)

TV Show medley performed by Us the Duo
There's nothing I love better than reliving my childhood, and these two medlies help me do just that. I love Us the Duo, but these two medlies make me extra happy because I literally watched every single TV show that they sang the theme song for.

What are some of your favorite mashups?
