My First YouTube Channel.

my first youtube channel
I started fangirling from a young age. From my obsession with Britney Spears and NSYNC to my current obsessions with Harry Potter and Supernatural, I guess you can say that I'm a fangirl at heart. I've always said I have an obsessive personality, and that's not isolated to just one thing. It can be music, movies, books, food, people, anything. I go through phases of loving certain things, and while my obsession with die down a little, the full love will still be there.

So I talk about fangirling because I used to be a huge High School Musical fangirl. I watched the premiere of the movie on Disney Channel, I watched the third movie in theaters, and I was even in the musical production of it at my school. I was one of the skater girls. See proof:

My fangirling was so hardcore that I decided to make a YouTube channel so I could mix clips from different parts of the movies and make my own little "ship" videos. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Gabriella, but from the videos I found on my old channel, it looks like I'm also a Troypay "shipper."

From the about section | "troy and gabriella were dating, but he cheated on her with sharpay; so now she's breaking up with him"

I used to enter the videos that I made into YouTube contests, and I actually won one of them! More on that later. I'm sad to say that I don't know the login to this YouTube channel, so it's just sitting there getting views and comments, and I can't respond.

My YouTube channel (with videos from six years ago, mind you) wasn't just purely made up of High School Musical videos. I also made videos of other people too. Check out these gems:

Mary-Kate and Ashley
My idols. I seriously love these girls. Mary-Kate has always been my favorite because she's was the spunky one who was more sporty, and while I wasn't sporty at all, I related more to her than to Ashley who was really girly. This video was made to the "Suffragette City" cover that was in the New York Minute movie. Check out the rainbow effect starting at 1:36. I thought I was so cool.

Lizzie and Gordo from Lizzie McGuire
This is another couple that I wanted to get together. This video is pretty much dedicated to them being perfect for each other. It's set to "I'd Lie" by Taylor Swift, which is one her "unreleased" songs.

From the about section | "i didn't have much material to work with, so it's not my best"

Miley Cyrus
I was a huge Miley Cyrus fan back in the day. I feel like I was a little older than the Hannah Montana fan base, but that didn't matter to me. I loved HM, and my sister and I went to go see Hannah and Miley in concert "together."

From the about section | "not one of my better videos, but it's ok i guess.."

THE AWARD WINNER: Vanessa Hudgens
As I mentioned earlier, one of my videos was a contest winner, and this is the one. I entered this video in a contest, and it won first place. What?! It's just a bunch of clips of Vanessa Hudgens set to the Lillix version of "What I Like About You."

I know what you're thinking. 'Tiffany, why would you ever stop making YouTube videos like these?!" Guys, I just felt like it was time to move on, so I did. (Embarrassing side note: I also made a YouTube "series" that was about the characters from High School Musical in college. I had commentary and everything, but I thought it was embarrassing, so I took it down. Why I didn't take down the rest of these videos will forever be a mystery to me.)

What are some embarrassing things you did when you were younger?

  3. haha, I love your talk about Fangirling, since I considered myself a fangirl and still do. I have some very embarrassing things from my past, too. These are great!

  4. HAHAHA I love this! I was yelling at my husband last night to try and fix our Roku player because I HAD to watch Olsen twin movies. My younger sister and I looked alike when we were younger and would pretend we were the twins and sing songs. Ah Lizzie McGuire. I always get the song from the movie stuck in my head

  5. Hahaha this is adorable! I love that A) these videos even happened because they're fantastic and B) that you're open about talking about it, because some people are SOOO obsessed with hiding the silly things they did when they were younger. I say embrace it, because it's all a part of your story. As far as my own embarrassing past...I used to write a lot of poetry, and at the time I thought it was deep and life-changing and really hitting the core of what it means to be human. Now I look at it all and realize it is really poor rhyming by a junior high girl with too many feelings. Oops. Guess I can cross poet off my list of potential career paths!

  6. I love those early embarrassing fangirl years. I feel like I found a kindred soul in you though as I was OBSESSED with the Olsen twins. One of my favorite games growing up was pretending to be them (I was always Mary Kate) and for some reason we had an evil stepmother we had to escape from.

  7. I suppose I'm glad I didn't take them down either because it definitely gave me a good laugh. Lizzie + Gordo = love 4evr

  8. Haha thanks, Carly! I loved Lizzie and Gordo and wish they would have made them start dating in the series rather than just having a tiny peck in the movie. Or even just continuing the series after their little kiss. Sigh. MKA were my girls! I loved their movies so much!

  9. Oh yea, I'm definitely a fangirl. I'm so embarrassing at cons and such because I just get so giddy! The people I'm with never know what to do with me. Oooh you definitely need to share some of these embarrassing things from your past! Haha!

  10. That's so awesome! I love Mary-Kate and Ashley and still watch their movies even though I'm 25 and should have moved past it by now. That's so awesome that y'all looked like them when you were younger! My sister and I used to sing the songs together too. They're just so catch and fun. Lizzie McGuire was the best TV show ever to be on Disney. It was my favorite!

  11. Haha oh yea, I just had such a good laugh at myself that I couldn't keep it in. I had to share. I still can't believe these vids are up! I'm surprised Google hasn't taken them down by now. I'm glad to say I've risen above my High School Musical obsession, by my love for Zac Efron still remains.

Ahhh! I bet it's fun(ny) to go back and read some of your poetry! I'm sure it was an awesome way to get your feelings out then though. I say if you don't look back at your middle school/junior high days and cringe a little, then what's the point! That's the time where embarrassing yourself was at its prime. So no future Taylor the Poet haha.

  12. Right?! I especially love those years because you don't hold your love back. If you fangirled, it was full force. Go big or go home. I WAS OBSESSED WITH THE OLSEN TWINS! I'm so happy that you loved them too. I was Mary-Kate too!! My sister was Ashley (even though she's younger than me). This is so awesome! MKA 4ever.

  13. This is so nostalgic for me! A lot of my online friends at the time were involved in making fan-mash-up videos. I was a huge Troyella shipper when I was younger. Back in the day I use to write fanfiction, which I believe some of which is still available to read on the internet. Lord, I don't think I want to go back and read them. They are probably so cringe-worthy, but I'm glad I got into it. It made me who I am today ^_^

  14. I feel you on that! I never wrote fan fiction, but the closest I got was creating the "college years" for high school musical in video form that are now gone forever (and I don't think I'm sad about it, because I'm certain they were terrible). I actually had a lot of fun making these videos, and I'm sure you had a blast writing your fan fic as well! Oh nostalgia. Those good ole HSM days.

  15. Oh my GOD, the Olson twins. I was obsessed with all of their movies, even in high school. I used to watch Holiday in the Sun on repeat seriously because I wished I was there. I secretly wanted to be famous and best friends with them. #noshame

  16. I still watch MKA movies, not gonna lie! Hah! Holiday in the Sun is my favorite MKA movie for sure. I love it! I'm still obsessed with the song in the movies, "Shades of Love." I definitely wanted to be their BFF!
