Summer Book Swap {Link-Up}

I feel like I've been waiting forever to publish this post, and I'm excited that it's finally time, and I couldn't be more excited! When I first came up with the idea of putting together a book swap, I wasn't sure if I would get 1 participant, let alone 40, so I'm grateful for all of the wonderful ladies that signed up who are just as passionate about books as I am. And a special thanks to my three co-hosts, Emily, Carly, and Lauren. This dream wouldn't have come to life without them. They're awesome.

Now for a little bit about my partner. I was paired with Valerie from Indecisively Restless. I knew we were going to get along swellingly because 1) she's a fan of Sarah Dessen and 2) she loves Netflix just as much as I do! I had a blast emailing back and forth with her. I had no idea that all of our emails would end up being novel length. She was so much fun getting to know.

Things that we have in common:
1) We both read YA novels.
2) We both have boyfriends named Jon, except her boyfriend's name is spelled John.
3) We like superhero movies.
4) We both live with our boyfriends.
5) We love traveling (but don't get to do it as often as we would like).
6) We've been to Mexico.
7) We both have shelter dogs.
8) We're still paying back student loans (the struggle).
9) We collect postcards.

Plus loads of other stuff. It was fun finding another book lover that I have so much in common with beyond our love of YA novels. I loved looking in my inbox and seeing a new email from her. I'm confident that we'll remain blog friends long after the swap is over.

Valerie informed me that she received her books in the mail yesterday, and I bought her the first book in two series that I absolutely love: Burn for Burn by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian and Cinder by Marissa Meyer. I'm excited to hear what she thinks of them! I'll be receiving my book in the mail tomorrow, and I can't wait!

For those of you who participated in the link-up, I'm so incredibly happy. I can't thank y'all enough for helping make this idea a reality. If you write or have written a post about your Summer Book Swap experience, feel free to link it up below! And if you share anything on social media, don't forget to use the official hashtag #SummerBookSwap!
