Endless Bliss | Happy Lifestyle Blog: Visiting Vatican City.

Visiting Vatican City.

There are not enough words to describe how beautiful the Vatican was. It's also massive, and I was only able to see a little bit of it, and most it was in passing because we were on a time crunch. Regardless, so much of what I saw was so breathtaking. Again, I was obsessed with the ceilings. They were so so incredible. Every part of the Vatican looked like it took 20 years to complete. And the Sistine Chapel...just wow! It was so beautiful, and it was incredible to be standing under a ceiling that took a man, a sculptor, three years to complete. Of course, I couldn't take any pictures in there, but you can find them everywhere. Granted, no pictures can compare to seeing it in person.

The goddess of fertility. No, those aren't eggs.

The answer is no. That's not my hair.

A little sweaty after our tour.

On our last night in Rome, we went to the Vatican, and everyone was busy taking pictures. It's sad to think that I may never see those people again. We spent ten days together, and that may be all we get. I'm so happy that I was able to experience all of this with them though.

Love these people!

Our awesome tour director, Adam.

If you ever take a trip to Rome, visiting the Vatican is obviously a must! It's worth the aching feet and having to cover your knees and shoulders even though it's blazingly hot outside. And of course, visit at night, because it's beautiful!

  1. I took a trip to Italy last year and visited the Vatican as well; probably my favorite part of the trip!! It was so beautiful, and every aspect of it was perfection, down to each detail of the architecture. It's something you just can't experience anywhere else!

  2. I love all of these travel posts but especially the Rome ones! I'm so excited to go back in September. The Vatican at night is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places...we used to walk through it and look at the pope's window (back when the pope lived in the papal apartments) and imagine what he was doing hahaha.

The Vatican is pretty amazing!! When my friend went, the pope was out giving a speech to a large crowd--could you imagine? Glad your trip was the stuff dreams are made of. :)

  5. The pope speaks every Wednesday morning and Sunday at noon when he's in Rome and when it's nice/held outdoors you don't even need tickets! :)

  15. I'm so jealous that you get to go back! September isn't very far away at all. Looking through the pope's window and imagining what he was doing sounds like a fun game haha.

  16. It was absolutely gorgeous. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip too. You really can't experience it anywhere else. People were much more careful and took their time with all of the architecture back then.
