Glory and Gore Go Hand In Hand {Roman Colosseum}.

When traveling to Rome, there are a few things that you can't leave the city without visiting. One is the Roman Colosseum. I mean, really, if you go to Rome and don't go to the Colosseum, did you even go to Rome?

I just can't help but think of this song when I think of the Colosseum.

It was incredible to walk through hallways and pathways that contained so much history. We learn about the Colosseum in school, but actually seeing it in person was so incredible.

Walking to the Colosseum. So excited!

Impatiently waiting to get in.

Selfie with my pretty friends and our tourist gear.

Right next to the Colosseum is the Roman Forum, another must do. I can't imagine how beautiful these buildings and columns must have been in their prime. Our tour guide for both the Colosseum and the Roman Forum was so hilarious. When we were in the Roman Forum, we passed by Julius Caesar's grave, and she said, "Some people still think Caesar is alive. I guess he's like Elvis." I don't know why, but I thought that was so funny. (I guess you had to be there.)

Another excellent thing about the Colosseum, gelato is just a skip, hop and a jump down the road. I had my first taste of gelato, and ice-cream will never be the same. It was so incredible.

On another night during the trip, we visited the Colosseum at night, which was so beautiful! If you're ever in Rome, be sure to see it at all times of the day, just like the Eiffel Tower.

And more gelato, cause Rome.

Have you ever visited the Colosseum in Rome? Is it something that you'd like to do?

  13. Thank you so much for all of your sweet compliments! I want gelato so bad. Whatever people say is gelato in America is not gelato. It just doesn't compare. Gelato is definitely so much better.

  14. Twice? I'm so jealous! I want to go back again already. It was amazing. It was definitely crazy thinking about how much history took place in the places we were stepping. And seeing how the doors were so high because so much stuff settled. I can't imagine how long it must have taken to dig up all of that. And yes, gelato!
